KNUCKLE JOINT PRESS

knukle joint .jpeg

Birson Forgings manufactures knuckle joint presses at our Ludhiana works for coining, sizing, embossing, cold forming and precision blanking. The knuckle linkage multiplies force sharply near bottom dead centre, giving very high tonnage over a short working stroke.

Why a knuckle joint press

The toggle linkage reaches maximum mechanical advantage in the last few millimetres before bottom dead centre. That gives very high tonnage from a comparatively small drive motor, slow ram speed at the bottom of the stroke so material has time to flow, and a repeatable shut height that holds tight thickness tolerance part to part.

Applications

Coining and sizing of forged components. Embossing and marking. Cold forming and cold extrusion. Precision blanking. Clutch plates, brake components and friction discs. Bearing races and washers.

Build and capacity

Steel fabricated, welded one-piece box-type frames, built to order. Birson Forgings is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has been manufacturing power presses and forging presses in Ludhiana since 1985, supplying customers across India and export markets worldwide.
