Choosing Power Presses for Auto Ancillary Production

Map the Part to the Press
Brackets, clamps, and clips run on C-frame presses of 30 to 100 tonnes. Chassis and suspension stampings need H-frame presses of 150 to 500 tonnes. Forged yokes, levers, and hubs belong on friction or forging screw presses. High-volume terminals and small parts run fastest on pneumatic clutch presses with coil feed.
What OEM Vendor Audits Check
Single-stroke safety, ram parallelism records, tonnage monitoring capability, and preventive maintenance logs. Machine choice decides your vendor rating before your first part ships. Buying one oversized press to do everything is the most common mistake at new units — blanking, forming, and forging have different speed and rigidity needs.
