Power Presses for Electrical Laminations, Terminals, and Switchgear Stamping

Why Lamination Stamping Is Demanding

Motor and transformer core laminations look like simple punched parts, but burr height must typically stay under roughly ten percent of sheet thickness or interlaminar shorts raise core losses. The material is thin, abrasive silicon steel that wears punches fast, and volumes run in the millions with continuous coil feed.

The Machine Spec That Follows

High frame rigidity, because burr equals clearance equals deflection; a pneumatic clutch for uninterrupted progressive operation; and accurate ram guiding. A general-purpose press that stamps brackets perfectly well will produce junk laminations.

Panel and Switchgear Work

The same precision serves terminal punching, contact stamping, and switchgear and panel fabrication, where burr-free edges and repeatability decide assembly quality.

Discuss your lamination or switchgear stamping requirements with Birson engineers for a machine specification.
